For this tutorial you will need:

PAINT SHOP PRO (Trial Version)

SUPER BLADE PRO (Optional)

Slate Template

Tube of your choice

Font of your choice

Alright, let's begin our tag!

1. Open your slate template and the tube you will be using in PSP; minimize your tube for now. Shift+D to make a copy of your slate template; close out your original template as we will be working on the copy of the template. That way you can save your original for future use.

2. Grab your magic wand (tolerance 0 feather 0) and click on each of the black slates to select. You will have to hold down the shift key while you select your slates so that the slates will all stay selected.

3. Set your background color to white (#FFFFFF) and floodfill your selected slates with your background color. Apply your favorite BP preset or floodfill with color of choice. I'm using goldensilver from The Treasure Trove. I can't remember for sure but I think that preset was on page 26. Do not deselect.

4. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using these settings: Opacity 80; Blur 4.9; Vertical 2; Horizontal2. Do not deselect.

5. Bring up the tube you will be using and go to Edit/Copy; minimize your tube for now. Make your slate image your active image and go to Edit/Paste/Into Selection. Do not deselect. Your image should look like the one below only your background will be transparent and ants will be surrounding your image..

6. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the same settings as in step 4 except change the vertical and horizontal settings to 0. Selections/Select None.

7. Image/Canvas Size/Change Canvas Size to 400w x 450h; center horizontally and vertically both checked.

8. Bring up your tube once again; my original tube was 306w x 452h ; I resized my tube by 75% two (2) times. Remember to sharpen after each resize if it is necessary for you to resize your tube; with your resized tube your active image, go to Edit/Copy; you can close out your tube as we won't need it any longer. Make your slate image active and go to Edit/Paste/As New Layer. Move your tube down the canvas some so that some of your bkg is visible. **See my tag in the header above for an example of how I did mine.

9. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using these settings: Opacity 100; Blur 4.9; Vertical 0; Horizontal 0. Layers/New Raster Layer. Set your foreground color to null and your background color to white (#FFFFFF). Click on your text tool and select a font that you want to use for your text. Type in your name or whatever text you want to add to your tag. I'm using Kelly Ann Gothic size 54 floating and antialias checked.

10. Your text should still be selected; apply your Bp preset or color/pattern of choice. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using these settings: Opacity 100; Blur 2.5; Vertical 1; Horizontal 1. Do not deselect.

11. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using these settings: Opacity 65; Blur 8.6; Vertical 2; Horizontal 4. Selections/Select None.

12. Make sure your text is place where you want on your tag and go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Edit/Copy; Edit/Paste As New Image. This will help to get rid of the excess space around your tag; you can just delete the tag with all the excess space around it. Resize your tag if needed and remember to go to Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen after each resize. Layers/Merge/Merge All Flatten. Save your tag and you are finished!!
