Just a note here. As you can see, this tutorial utilizes several different filters, as most of my tutorials do. I love working with different filters to see what I can come up with. I have had some emails stating that if it werent' for all the filters I use, then they would do my tutorials; Simply put, if it weren't for those wonderful filters out there, I wouldn't have near as many tutorials written. Give filters a try, I promise you they are easy to work with and so much fun to use.
For this tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro (Trial Version)
Eye Candy 4000 (Trial Version)
Xero
Crescent Moon
Filter Factory Gallery E
Tube of your choice; the tube that I'm using is from Graphic Designs by Falaria. Just click on the link to her site to download the tube I'm using.
You will also need the mask that I'm using; you can get the mask here.
Okay, let's get started!!
1. Open in PSP the tube that you will be using for your tag; Shift+D to make a copy of your tube. Close the original and save for future use; we will be working with the copy of your tube. Image/Canvas Size. Add 100 pixels to both the height and width of your tube image. Example: the current width and height of my tube is 238w x 443h; so my canvas width will be 338 and my canvas height 543. Make sure to check to center the image both horizontally and vertically.
2. Effects/PluginFilters/Xero/Porcelain using the default settings.
3. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using the settings shown below: Opacity 100; Blur 4.9; Vertical 0; Horizontal 0.
4. Effects/PluginFilters/EC4000/Corona using the settings shown below. I'm using #A99362 for my corona effect color.
5. Layers/New Raster Layer. Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom. Set your bkg color to white (#FFFFFF). Floodfill your new layer with your white bkg color. Effects/PluginFilters/Filter Factory Gallery E/Web using the default settings.
6. Effects/PluginFilters/Crescent Moon/FadeOut using the settings shown below.
7. Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Masks/New/From Image/mask006; Masks/delete. Merge into current layer? YES!
8. Time to add our text to our tag. Layers/New Raster Layer. Set your bkg color to #A99362 or a color of choice. Foreground color is set to black (#000000). I'm using the font Celexa size 42 floating and antialias checked.
9. Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow using these settings: Opacity 94; Blur 3.7; Vertical 1; Horizontal 1. Do not deselect.
10. Effects/PluginFilters/Ec4000/Corona using the settings shown below. I'm using black (#000000) for my shadow color. Selections/Select none. Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen.
11. Layers/Merge Visible. Go to Edit/Copy then Edit/Paste as a New Image; that will eliminate any excess canvas around your tag. Resize to desired size . Remember to go to Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen after you resize unless you are using Bicubic resample as your resize type. Save in desired format.
